Curriculum Designer - Psychology (iGCSE and A Level)
Inspired Education · London
Job description
About the role
Inspired Education, a group of 125 private schools, is hiring a fixed-term Curriculum Designer for its King's InterHigh (KIH) self-paced online Psychology course covering iGCSE and International A-Level. The role is remote but requires the candidate to be based in the UK and authorised to work there. It is a hands-on creation role: you will turn the relevant specification into a complete, exam-aligned course built for independent, self-paced learners, with video, assessment, feedback and interactive digital resources. Courses are to be delivered in September 2027.
Key responsibilities
- Write course content by reviewing, adapting and developing existing materials into a fully self-paced curriculum.
- Author lessons, explanations, worked examples, activities and assessments to the agreed template, structure and quality standards.
- Write to iGCSE and International A-Level specifications, exam-board requirements and mark schemes, keeping content accurate and exam-aligned.
- Design a mix of assessment, including auto-marked and self-checking questions with instant feedback and teacher-based feedback.
- Structure and sequence content for independent learners with low teacher contact, using chunking, scaffolding and retrieval practice.
- Build a suite of multi-modal resources such as video lessons, voiceovers, screencasts, interactive tools and knowledge checks.
- Make content accessible and inclusive (SEND-aware, readable, with alt text and WCAG considerations).
- Work to a production schedule, submit drafts for editorial/QA review and revise on feedback.
- Use third-party content legally and create compliant, properly owned material.
Required profile
- Current or recent teacher with a teaching qualification and strong subject and curriculum knowledge.
- Experience developing lesson materials for online delivery and asynchronous course design.
- Understanding of how to design for independent, self-paced learners.
- Willingness and ability to record video lessons and voiceovers, comfortable on camera and mic.
- Awareness of accessibility, inclusion, GDPR, copyright/licensing and safeguarding in online education.
- Self-motivated, able to work remotely and autonomously to deadlines.
Required skills
- Assessment design aligned to iGCSE and International A-Level specifications and mark schemes.
- Experience working with an LMS / VLE.
- Interactive content authoring and basic media editing.
- Highly valued: synchronous lesson design and familiarity with exam-board specifications.
The contract is fixed term (5 months), full-time, with a salary of 34,000 to 39,000 GBP and a start date of November 2026 or January 2027. Candidates apply via the Inspired application form and CV.
