Data Engineer (AWS) – Manchester

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer with strong AWS expertise to join our client’s Data Engineering team in Manchester. You will design, build and maintain robust data pipelines, supporting real‑time and batch processing across a modern data lakehouse architecture.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and optimise ETL processes using AWS Glue, Lambda, S3, Redshift and Amazon EMR.
• Design and implement scalable data pipelines with PySpark and Python.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate data from multiple platforms.
• Support cloud migration initiatives and ensure data quality and integrity.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.

Required profile

• Proven experience building data pipelines on AWS.
• Strong programming skills in Python and SQL.
• Hands‑on experience with PySpark and pipeline orchestration tools.
• Familiarity with data lakehouse and data warehousing concepts.
• Ability to work in an Agile environment and communicate with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
