Data QA Engineer (Remote, UK)

About the role

This position is part of a growing data function delivering a large‑scale Lakehouse programme. You will be responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability and continuous improvement of critical data products, shaping testing standards and influencing best practice across the team.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, design and execute testing activities across data platforms, pipelines and products.
• Perform functional, integration and regression testing to guarantee reliable releases.
• Collaborate closely with Data Engineers, Analytics Engineers and business stakeholders to identify risks and validate solutions.
• Log, track and manage defects through to resolution.
• Contribute to testing strategies, quality frameworks and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Support testing activities within Databricks and PySpark environments.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a Data QA, software testing or quality‑assurance role.
• Strong background testing data platforms, pipelines and data products.
• Hands‑on experience with Databricks, SQL, Python and PySpark.
• Excellent stakeholder communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of testing activities and quality standards.
