Director - Debt Advisory

About the role

We are seeking a Director to lead the Debt Advisory team for a top‑10 professional services firm. Based in Birmingham, the role combines new‑business generation, strategic client advisory and lender relationship management, supporting owner‑managed and mid‑market companies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new business through internal referrals and external introducer networks.
• Advise owners and mid‑market clients on a wide range of debt‑funding solutions.
• Structure, source and negotiate funding across banks, alternative lenders and other providers.
• Prepare high‑quality funding proposals and information memoranda.
• Manage transactions from initial instruction through to completion.
• Present to partners, clients and at networking events to grow the practice.

Required profile

• Proven track record of winning and developing client relationships in debt advisory or commercial finance broking.
• Experience arranging debt facilities for SME and mid‑market businesses.
• Strong commercial and financial analysis abilities, including interpretation of financial statements.
• Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for business development.
