Driver – Plant & Tool Equipment Delivery

About the role

Join GAP's Plant & Tool Division as a Driver and play a vital part in keeping construction, utilities and infrastructure projects moving across the UK. You will deliver, collect and demonstrate a range of hire equipment, ensuring each site receives the right tools at the right time.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver and collect plant equipment to and from customer sites, completing all paperwork accurately (damage checks, fuel levels, authorised signatures).
• Start machines on‑site when requested and demonstrate equipment use where needed.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and basic maintenance to ensure roadworthiness and safety.
• Safely load and unload equipment using correct strapping and securing methods.
• Tag damaged machines on return and place them in the correct depot area.
• Maintain a clean and organised vehicle and support general depot duties.
• Follow customer site Health & Safety rules and operate digital tachographs in line with legislation.

Required profile

• Reliable, safety‑conscious and customer‑focused.
• Proven experience in a driving role, ideally delivering plant or tool equipment.
• Full UK driving licence (towing experience and Digi‑Tacho card desirable).
• Good understanding of Health & Safety procedures and safe working practices.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to complete paperwork accurately.
• Professional, friendly approach when dealing with customers and colleagues.

Required skills

• Digital tachograph operation.
• Vehicle inspection and basic maintenance.
