Driver – Vehicle Operations for Southwark Cleaning

About the role
The role involves operating a range of vehicles to support Southwark Cleaning operations across London. You will be responsible for safe transport of goods, waste and other items while ensuring compliance with all road and company safety standards.
Key responsibilities
- Perform pre‑ and post‑shift vehicle checks and complete driver log books accurately.
- Report any defects, accidents or safety concerns immediately.
- Load, transport and unload goods, waste and recycling materials as required.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness inside and out on a regular basis.
- Participate in training sessions and apply new equipment or procedures.
- Ensure the security of all vehicles under your control.
Required profile
- Full, clean Class 1 or Class 2 Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) licence for LGV drivers, or a clean standard driving licence for non‑LGV drivers.
- Minimum two years’ experience in a cleaning, grounds‑maintenance, waste‑management or similar environment as a driver.
- Understanding and commitment to the Council’s Equality and Diversity policies.
