Early Years Teaching Assistant – Quinton

About the role

We are seeking a caring Early Years Teaching Assistant to support young learners in a primary school setting in Quinton, Birmingham. You will work closely with pupils in the EYFS, helping them develop socially, emotionally and academically.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small‑group support to children in the Early Years setting.
• Assist with learning activities, play‑based sessions and daily classroom routines.
• Deliver personal care, including toileting and hygiene assistance when needed.
• Manage challenging behaviour using calm, consistent strategies.
• Support pupils with suspected additional needs such as developmental, behavioural or learning difficulties.
• Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to tailor support for each child.

Required profile

• Experience working in Early Years or primary education environments.
• Confidence supporting children with additional needs and behavioural challenges.
• Comfortable providing personal care.
• Patient, nurturing and adaptable attitude.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
