Ecologist – Environmental Consultancy (Tetbury)

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Ecologist to join a growing environmental consultancy in Tetbury. Working within a friendly, experienced team, you will support a variety of ecological projects across the UK, from initial surveys through to final reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct ecological surveys, including protected species and habitat assessments.
• Prepare technical reports such as Preliminary Ecological Appraisals, Ecological Impact Assessments and protected‑species documentation.
• Assist project management to ensure timely delivery of high‑quality work.
• Liaise with clients, planning authorities and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Support biodiversity enhancement and habitat‑management initiatives.

Required profile

• Degree in Ecology, Environmental Science or a related discipline.
• Experience in ecological consultancy or a similar environment.
• Good knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and planning policy.
• Excellent communication and report‑writing abilities.
• Full UK driving licence; protected‑species licences are a plus.
