Electrical Design Director

About the role

You will join a well‑established building services consultancy that is expanding its presence across the Midlands. As Electrical Design Director you will own the electrical design function for the region, providing technical leadership and acting as the senior point of contact for clients and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead concept and detailed electrical design for low‑voltage distribution, lighting, life‑safety, renewables and power infrastructure.
• Oversee project delivery, review and sign‑off of technical work, and ensure compliance with relevant standards.
• Provide technical direction to multidisciplinary engineering teams and support recruitment, training and mentorship.
• Contribute to business development activities, including proposals, fee submissions and client interviews.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in electrical building services engineering at Principal/Associate level or above.
• Proven ability to lead electrical projects from concept through to completion.
• Strong client‑facing skills with a commercial understanding of budgets, fees and profitability.
• Excellent communication, leadership and mentoring capabilities.
