Electrical Fitter – High Voltage Substations

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Fitter to join a specialist high‑voltage infrastructure company delivering AIS and GIS substation projects across the UK. You will work on installations up to 132kV, supporting commissioning teams and gaining exposure to large‑scale projects.

Key responsibilities

• Install and wire AIS and GIS substation equipment up to 132kV.
• Fit control panels, protection systems, marshalling kiosks and secondary wiring.
• Perform cable glanding, termination, containment and comprehensive electrical testing.
• Support commissioning and energisation activities alongside engineering teams.
• Travel to customer sites nationwide and stay overnight as required, with accommodation and expenses covered.

Required profile

• Qualified Electrical Fitter or Industrial Electrician with proven experience in substations, switchgear or industrial electrical installations.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
• Willingness to travel nationwide and stay away from home during the working week.
• Full UK driving licence.
