Engineering Programme Manager – CTO Office

About the role

Thought Machine is building modern banking technology in the cloud and needs a dynamic Programme Manager to support its CTO Office. Reporting to the Chief of Staff to the CTO, you will partner with engineering leadership to drive high‑stakes initiatives such as GenAI adoption and quality programmes while scaling engineering operations.

Key responsibilities

• Own and continuously improve core engineering‑operations workflows to boost efficiency and agility.
• Lead high‑impact strategic initiatives from ideation through delivery, ensuring cross‑functional alignment.
• Design dashboards and metrics that give visibility into engineering productivity and operational health.
• Support executive reporting by synthesising data for the CTO and senior leadership.
• Prepare briefings, presentations and strategic materials for executive and client engagements.
• Bridge communication gaps between teams, remove bottlenecks and rally resources to accelerate timelines.
• Step in as a tactical force multiplier to unblock progress wherever needed.

Required profile

• Proven adaptability and execution in high‑growth, fast‑paced environments.
• Expert programme‑management skills with the ability to juggle many projects and keep cross‑functional teams aligned.
• Strategic problem‑solving experience handling ambiguous challenges and complex stakeholder relationships.
• Background in fluid, fast‑moving settings such as top‑tier consulting, large‑scale transformation programmes, or a CTO Office.
• Strong technical literacy to converse confidently with engineering leaders.
• Comfort with AI‑assisted productivity tools, including writing and reviewing code with AI support.
