English Teacher – Inspire Literacy & Reading

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative English Teacher to join The Tower School in Epping. You will combine engaging classroom teaching with the opportunity to lead reading initiatives across the school, helping pupils overcome barriers to learning.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver creative, engaging English lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
• Inspire pupils to develop confidence in literacy, communication and reading.
• Lead whole‑school reading initiatives and promote a positive reading culture.
• Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting support to achieve meaningful outcomes.
• Collaborate with education, support and care colleagues to provide consistent, personalised support.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience teaching English across relevant key stages.
• A genuine passion for English, literacy, reading and language development.
• Strong classroom management and behaviour‑support skills.
• Excellent communication and collaborative working abilities.
