Enterprise Data Architect

About the role

Enterprise Data Architect based in Birmingham, working weekly on‑site to lead the design and delivery of a new enterprise data platform as part of a major digital transformation.

Key responsibilities

• Own and shape the enterprise data architecture vision, strategy and maturity roadmap.
• Design the end‑to‑end data platform, including data models, data lakes, warehouses and integrations.
• Define data standards and establish a robust data governance framework, ensuring data quality and security in line with regulatory requirements.
• Prepare the platform for AI/ML integration and evaluate emerging tools, cloud platforms and analytics technologies.
• Collaborate with external partners to create a “single version of the truth” and enable secure data sharing across the industry.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Data Architect, shaping or maturing an organisation’s enterprise data landscape.
• Experience within a regulated industry such as utilities, finance or defence.
• Broad knowledge of modern data platforms and cloud services.
• Strong data‑modelling expertise.
• Ability to work through ambiguity and communicate architectural decisions to senior stakeholders.
