Escalator Technician – Greater London (Shift Pattern)

About the role

Stannah is seeking an experienced Escalator Technician to join its field service team covering Greater London, Gatwick Airport station and Stansted Airport station. The role works on a 12‑hour shift pattern (19:00‑07:00, 4 days on/4 days off) and offers a structured schedule without on‑call duties.

Key responsibilities

• Perform escalator maintenance, inspections, surveys and fault resolution in line with safety and quality standards.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, carry out repairs and oversee refurbishment projects.
• Produce technical assessments, process documentation and cost reports for decision‑making.
• Monitor site safety, ensure compliance and complete risk assessments for engineers and subcontractors.
• Manage technical queries, material procurement and client communications.
• Mentor and train field engineers, supporting a high‑performing service team.

Required profile

• Significant experience working on escalator systems, preferably within transport infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of safety‑critical environments and ability to work independently.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and a commitment to continuous improvement.
