Experienced Bookkeeper for Established Law Firm

About the role

Eventus Finance are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join an established law firm in Birmingham. This full‑time, permanent role offers up to £40,000 and provides training on SRA Accounts Rules, making it a pathway into specialist legal finance.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the firm’s financial records
• Support compliance with SRA Accounts Rules (training provided)
• Assist month‑end processes and financial reporting
• Prepare financial statements and record journal entries
• Maintain accurate purchase and sales ledgers
• Carry out bank reconciliations and financial postings
• Process invoices and payments precisely
• Manage day‑to‑day records and reporting through Xero

Required profile

• Minimum five years’ relevant bookkeeping experience
• Formal bookkeeping or accountancy qualification (AAT, ICB or equivalent)
• Proven ability to prepare financial statements, journal entries and general finance tasks
• Highly organised and disciplined approach to a full workload
• Strong familiarity with accounting systems; Xero experience preferred
• Excellent accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to meet deadlines and handle sensitive financial data responsibly
• Professional and reliable demeanor suitable for a regulated environment
