Experienced Nursery Chef – Part Time

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Nursery Chef to join a friendly early years setting in Ipsden. The role involves preparing nutritious, home‑cooked meals and snacks for young children, ensuring high standards of food safety, hygiene and allergen management while enjoying a balanced work‑life schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and serve fresh, balanced meals and snacks for children.
• Manage dietary requirements, allergies and food intolerances.
• Maintain excellent food hygiene, kitchen cleanliness and temperature records.
• Monitor food storage, stock rotation and ordering of supplies.
• Complete food safety documentation and support Environmental Health inspections.

Required profile

• Experience in a catering, kitchen or chef role, preferably in a nursery setting.
• Strong understanding of food hygiene and allergen management.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Positive, flexible approach to teamwork and a commitment to safeguarding children.
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain) and right to work in the UK.

Required skills

• Level 2 or Level 3 Food Safety & Hygiene Certificate.
• Allergen Awareness Training in line with Natasha’s Law.
