Field Service Engineer – Machine Tool Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Field Service Engineer to join a leading machine‑tool specialist supporting blue‑chip customers in aerospace, automotive, defence and advanced manufacturing. The role involves travelling across the UK and Europe to diagnose, repair and maintain sophisticated CNC and automated equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to breakdowns and diagnose electrical and mechanical faults on site.
• Perform servicing, repairs and planned maintenance of CNC and machine‑tool equipment.
• Support installation, commissioning and testing of new machinery.
• Work with automated systems, including electrical controls, hydraulics, pneumatics and PLCs.
• Interpret technical drawings and schematics to guide fault finding.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Service Engineer, Maintenance Engineer or Field Engineer.
• Strong ability to work independently on breakdowns and solve problems.
• Exposure to PLC fault finding is highly desirable.
• Comfortable reading technical drawings and working methodically.
