Field Service Technician

About the role

As a Field Service Technician you will join the expanding European Field Service team based in Manchester, UK. You will provide on‑site and workshop support for IMI and competitor valve products, installing, upgrading, servicing and repairing critical control valves for customers across the UK and Europe.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve issues with critical service control valves both on site and in the workshop.
• Lead troubleshooting efforts during outages and manage manpower as required.
• Develop innovative technical solutions and recommend product upgrades to meet customer needs.
• Plan, supervise and execute on‑site work within defined timeframes and scopes.
• Identify, monitor and report non‑root‑cause issues that could affect project timelines.

Required profile

• Relevant experience or a recognised apprenticeship/qualification in a related field.
• Background knowledge of the fossil power, oil & gas industry.
• Strong problem‑solving initiative and the ability to work independently.
• Competent IT skills.
• Willingness to travel throughout the UK and regularly across Europe.
