File Handler – Noise Induced Hearing Loss Claims

About the role

We are looking for an experienced File Handler to join our Industrial Disease team, focusing on Noise Induced Hearing Loss (NIHL) claims. You will manage a litigated caseload from inception to resolution, working closely with insurers, counsel and expert witnesses to achieve optimal outcomes while maintaining profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Review documentation, medical and personnel records and prepare detailed reports.
• Handle all aspects of disclosure and ensure compliance with procedural requirements.
• Conduct investigations, liaise with insured parties and obtain witness statements.
• Instruct and coordinate with counsel and expert witnesses.
• Undertake legal and technical research to support case strategy.
• Draft legal documents, correspondence, pleadings and reports.
• Attend conferences, court hearings and trials as required.
• Maintain accurate file management and ensure work is conducted efficiently and profitably.
• Ensure compliance with SRA Standards and Regulations at all times.

Required profile

• Previous experience handling litigated NIHL claims and managing a caseload independently.
• Strong understanding of litigation processes, court procedures and disclosure requirements.
• Ability to review evidence, medical records and witness statements and produce clear reports.
• Experience instructing counsel and experts and attending hearings and trials.
• Excellent organisation, time‑management and communication skills.
