Finance Analyst – Loan Portfolio Management

About the role

This Finance Analyst position is based in central Birmingham and reports directly to the Finance Director of a fast‑growing alternative lending platform. The role offers the chance to manage a diverse loan portfolio, support audit processes and contribute to the continuous improvement of financial controls.

Key responsibilities

• Construct and maintain upstream and downstream interest schedules for the full loan portfolio.
• Own and continuously update the charges register, ensuring accurate recording of security interests.
• Maintain a detailed bank transactions tracker to support reporting and external audits.
• Assist with post‑lending monitoring, tracking covenant compliance and borrower obligations.
• Process supplier and operational invoices and manage the end‑to‑end payment run with appropriate controls.
• Chase borrowers for scheduled interest and principal payments, handling collections professionally.
• Prepare detailed interest payment summaries across all loan facilities.
• Support the Finance Director in responding to auditor queries, preparing schedules and evidence.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial controls, processes and reporting frameworks.

Required profile

• Part‑qualified or fully qualified ACA or ACCA.
• Three to five years of relevant finance experience, preferably within financial services, real estate finance or a comparable lending environment.
• Office‑based availability Monday to Friday, 9am‑5pm.
