Finance Business Partner

About the role

The Finance Business Partner will join a well‑established organisation in Birmingham, supporting senior leadership and operational teams to drive commercial performance. This high‑visibility role blends financial analysis, project costing and strategic insight to enable growth and profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with operational and commercial teams to deliver financial insight and support business objectives.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and long‑range planning cycles.
• Provide project and contract cost reporting, variance analysis and performance commentary.
• Support commercial decisions including bids, pricing and investment appraisals.
• Ensure robust financial controls and governance across the area of responsibility.
• Present financial performance to senior stakeholders in a clear, accessible manner.
• Drive continuous improvement in financial processes and reporting.

Required profile

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Proven experience as a Finance Business Partner or in a commercially focused finance role.
• Background in project, contract or capital‑intensive environments is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of cost management and project accounting.
• Experience supporting senior leadership with financial planning and analysis.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Familiarity with ERP systems.
