Finance Officer – Temp-to-Perm, South West London

About the role

We are seeking a Finance Officer to join a busy education organisation in South West London. The role starts on a temporary basis with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate. You will support day‑to‑day financial operations, ensuring accurate processing of invoices, purchase orders and payments.

Key responsibilities

• Process orders, invoices and payments using Xero and ensure timely monthly reconciliations.
• Raise purchase orders, match them to invoices and set up new suppliers.
• Run weekly BACS payment runs and handle petty cash payments.
• Produce half‑termly statements and charges for curriculum and administrative stationery.
• Liaise with suppliers and budget holders to resolve queries.
• Assist the Interim Finance Director with specific account administration and ad‑hoc tasks.
• Provide general office administration support, including telephone handling and communications.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Finance Officer, Finance Assistant, Accounts Payable or similar role within the education sector.
• Proven use of PS Financials and Xero for invoice and supplier processing.
• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
