Financial Reporting Accountant

About the role

This newly created position sits at the heart of the finance function, responsible for preparing consolidated financial statements under IFRS and managing internal financial reporting. You will act as a key technical resource across the organisation, supporting divisional finance leaders and senior stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the month‑end, half‑yearly and year‑end close cycles for the group, ensuring timely and accurate internal reporting.
• Prepare and review audit deliverables, respond to audit queries and maintain compliance standards.
• Document technical accounting positions and produce detailed papers on complex issues such as revenue recognition, lease accounting, share‑based payments and business combinations.
• Oversee the preparation of consolidated financial statements in line with IFRS.
• Produce high‑quality management information for divisional Finance Directors and business partners.
• Manage and develop a small team of two direct reports, providing guidance and mentorship.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent), preferably with experience as a second‑time‑mover.
• Strong technical expertise in IFRS and financial reporting within a listed environment.
• Proven ability to handle complex accounting topics and communicate technical positions clearly.
• Experience leading month‑end close processes and coordinating audit activities.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with experience managing a small team.
