Fitter/Driver – Tool Hire (Manchester)

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Fitter/Driver to join a specialist tool‑hire business serving the Manchester and wider North West area. The role combines hands‑on mechanical and electrical repair work with the delivery and collection of power tools and specialist equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform basic mechanical and electrical repairs, cleaning and PAT testing of equipment.
• Deliver and collect construction tools and specialist plant using a 3.5 t box van.
• Maintain vehicle responsibility, completing pre‑ and post‑journey checks.
• Complete delivery, collection and stock paperwork accurately.
• Keep the yard and storage areas tidy and organised.
• Assist with general depot duties as required.

Required profile

• Full UK driving licence (essential).
• Basic mechanical knowledge and ability to carry out simple repairs.
• Organised with the ability to prioritise workload.
• Literacy skills to complete paperwork.
• Customer‑friendly approach.

Required skills

• PAT testing.
