Forensic Accounting Assistant Manager / Manager

About the role

Based in the Forensic Accounting team in Birmingham, this position focuses on dispute‑related matters and forensic accounting investigations. You will support complex engagements such as litigation, arbitration and financial investigations while working closely with clients and senior stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and lead forensic engagements, coordinating internal and external stakeholders.
• Develop and evaluate damages and quantum of claim calculations.
• Draft reports for expert review and assist in preparing expert and advisory reports.
• Contribute to case strategy development.
• Support dispute‑related matters including business valuations, loss of profits, warranty and indemnity claims, and arbitration proceedings.
• Identify investigation issues, request relevant documentation and support fraud, asset tracing and funds‑flow analysis.
• Utilise e‑discovery platforms and other technology to improve efficiency.
• Manage a portfolio of cases to meet deadlines and resource requirements.
• Prepare budgets, time‑cost analyses and monitor engagement progress.
• Contribute to practice operations such as compliance, learning & development, innovation and team support.
• Provide line‑management duties, mentoring and performance feedback for junior team members.
• Support business development, marketing and networking activities.
• Maintain market awareness to identify trends and growth opportunities.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or equivalent recognised accountancy qualification.
• Proven experience in a forensic accounting role.
• Experience of business valuations.

Required skills

• Proficiency with e‑discovery platforms.
