Forward Deployed Engineer (Spanish‑speaking) – London

About the role

OpenAI’s Forward Deployed Engineering team partners with strategic customers to turn cutting‑edge AI research into production systems. As a Forward Deployed Engineer you will lead end‑to‑end deployments of frontier models, owning discovery, technical scoping, system design, build and production rollout while working closely with customer engineering and domain teams.

Key responsibilities

• Own technical delivery across multiple deployments from prototype to stable production.
• Build full‑stack systems that deliver customer value and improve model learning.
• Embed with customer teams to understand needs and guide adoption.
• Scope work, sequence delivery, and remove blockers early.
• Make trade‑offs between scope, speed and quality, adjusting plans to protect delivery.
• Contribute directly in code when progress or clarity depends on it.
• Codify working patterns into reusable tools, playbooks or building blocks.
• Share field feedback that informs research and product roadmaps.

Required profile

• 6+ years of engineering or technical deployment experience, including customer‑facing work.
• Professional fluency in Spanish and English.
• Proven ability to scope and deliver complex systems in fast‑moving or ambiguous environments.
• Experience writing and reviewing production‑grade code in Python, JavaScript or comparable stacks.
• Background building or deploying systems powered by LLMs or generative models.
• Ability to simplify complexity and make fast, sound decisions under pressure.
• Strong communication skills with engineers, product teams and customer stakeholders.
• Proactive risk identification and mitigation.
