Founding Business Development Manager

About the role

Flagright is seeking a Founding Business Development Manager to lead and scale its global business development function. This senior, hands‑on leadership position will manage a distributed team of Business Development Representatives, drive outbound pipeline, and work closely with the founders to shape the sales engine of an AI‑driven financial‑crime compliance platform.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a geo‑distributed team of four BDRs, holding them accountable for activity, conversion and pipeline targets.
• Own end‑to‑end hiring, onboarding and rapid ramp‑up of new BDRs.
• Design and implement territory and vertical coverage to ensure a coordinated global outbound effort.
• Run forecasting, pipeline reporting and present performance insights directly to the founders.
• Partner with Sales and Marketing to align hand‑offs, service‑level agreements and feedback loops.
• Establish and enforce a high‑performance outbound culture, standards and habits from day one.

Required profile

• 5+ years of business development or sales development experience in B2B SaaS, with at least 2 years managing BDR/SDR teams.
• Background in a start‑up or scale‑up environment (under 200 employees).
• Proven ability to lead remote, geo‑distributed teams across time zones.
• Demonstrated track record of hiring, ramping and scaling BDR teams quickly.
• Resilient, resourceful and comfortable with ambiguity and fast‑changing priorities.
