Founding Security Engineer

About the role

Wexler is building a next‑generation AI platform for litigation and is looking for its first dedicated security hire. As the Founding Security Engineer you will define and own the security program across infrastructure, product, and compliance, working closely with engineering, operations, and leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of existing security tooling and implement new solutions such as endpoint protection, MDM, access controls, EDR, ZTNA and vulnerability scanners.
• Embed secure‑by‑design practices into the development lifecycle, including secure coding, threat modelling, design reviews and CI/CD hardening.
• Monitor systems for anomalous behaviour and design proactive detection and prevention mechanisms.
• Ensure infrastructure and applications meet industry standards (e.g., OWASP Top 10, AWS Well‑Architected Framework) and maintain ISO 27001‑certified ISMS documentation.
• Conduct risk assessments, third‑party/vendor reviews and internal evaluations.
• Partner with GTM and leadership to demonstrate security posture and compliance maturity to customers, turning security into a commercial advantage.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience deploying and managing security tooling (EDR, MDM, ZTNA, vulnerability scanners, etc.).
• Strong background working within AWS’s security ecosystem and enterprise‑grade security tools.
• Solid foundations in networking, systems administration and cloud architecture.
• Ability to translate security requirements into practical implementations and communicate with cross‑functional teams.
