Fund Controller – Private Equity (London)

About the role

This is a broad, commercially focused Fund Controller role within a well‑capitalised private‑equity fund in London. The position offers exposure across the full fund finance lifecycle and reports directly to senior management, providing high visibility and interaction with senior stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day fund administration and coordinate with third‑party fund administrators.
• Prepare and review quarterly and annual fund financial statements, investor reports and partner statements.
• Act as primary contact for external auditors and tax advisers, managing year‑end audits and tax compliance.
• Manage investor queries, delivering high‑level service to Limited Partners.
• Monitor and manage fund cash positions, ensuring effective liquidity and treasury management.
• Coordinate capital calls, drawdowns and distributions, liaising with Limited Partners and the fund finance provider.
• Maintain accuracy and integrity of financial information, implementing robust controls and high‑quality reporting.
• Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and internal controls.
• Support the wider finance team on strategic initiatives and ad‑hoc projects.

Required profile

• Qualified Chartered Accountant (or equivalent).
• Proven experience in fund accounting within private‑equity or similar investment vehicles.
• Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical mindset.
• Proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
• Highly engaging, collaborative and able to build strong relationships with service providers, advisers and internal stakeholders.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of presenting complex financial information clearly.
