Fund Controller VP to ED

About the role

The Fund Controller VP to ED will lead the fund accounting and reporting function for a leading asset management organisation based in Canary Wharf. Reporting to senior management, you will ensure accurate financial statements, compliance with regulatory standards and provide strategic insight on fund performance.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee fund accounting and financial reporting processes, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Review and approve financial statements, budgets, reconciliations and capital call documentation for assigned funds.
• Develop and implement robust financial controls to mitigate risk and improve operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders, including auditors, trustees and investors.
• Provide performance analysis and strategic recommendations to senior leadership, including deal‑making support.
• Lead, mentor and develop a team of finance professionals to achieve departmental objectives.
• Stay current with industry regulations and best practices to maintain ongoing compliance.

Required profile

• ACA qualification (or equivalent) from a Big 4/Top 6 practice.
• Extensive experience in fund accounting, control principles and financial reporting standards within asset management, transportation, infrastructure or real‑estate sectors.
• Strong analytical ability with meticulous attention to detail.
• Proven track record of managing teams and working with diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and contribute as a sole contributor.
