GPU Architect - Platform Architecture

About the role

Apple’s Architecture group is looking for a seasoned GPU Architect to join the Platform Architecture team in London. You will work across hardware and software domains to shape the performance and power characteristics of Apple’s next‑generation GPUs.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with hardware, software, and design teams to identify performance and power improvement opportunities for Apple GPUs.
• Develop and verify performance models for complex multimedia IPs used across Apple devices.
• Create prototype software implementations and simulated hardware models to evaluate new architectural concepts.
• Gather data, run measurements, and validate or invalidate design ideas.
• Present findings to cross‑functional audiences and evolve high‑level specifications for designers, micro‑architects, and software teams.

Required profile

• Strong background in GPU, CPU, DSP, or ISP architecture.
• Deep knowledge of micro‑architectural specification and implementation.
• Ability to combine micro‑architecture expertise with performance bottleneck analysis on real workloads.
• Excellent communication skills, self‑motivation, and strong organisational abilities.
