Group Financial Controller – Private Equity Data Centre

About the role

The Group Financial Controller will lead the finance function of a fast‑growing, private‑equity‑backed data‑centre business. Reporting to the CFO and working closely with the executive team and investors, the role ensures financial integrity, robust controls and timely reporting to support rapid expansion.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the monthly, quarterly and annual close process, delivering accurate consolidated management accounts.
• Prepare board packs, financial reports for the executive team and private‑equity investors.
• Manage statutory reporting, tax, VAT, payroll compliance and year‑end audit across all legal entities.
• Develop and maintain a strong financial control environment, including balance‑sheet reconciliations and cash controls.
• Drive continuous improvement of financial processes, internal controls and risk‑management activities.
• Lead, develop and mentor the finance team to build a high‑performing function.
• Support budgeting, rolling forecasts and provide financial analysis to influence commercial decisions.
• Produce monthly investor reporting packs, KPI dashboards and cash‑flow forecasts for covenant and lender reporting.

Required profile

• Significant experience in a high‑growth, private‑equity‑backed environment.
• Strong commercial mindset with the ability to translate financial data into strategic insight.
• Extensive knowledge of IFRS and/or UK GAAP and statutory reporting requirements.
• Proven track record of managing audits, consolidations and multi‑entity finance operations.
• Leadership experience building and developing finance teams.
