Group Tax Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Group Tax Manager to join the finance leadership team of a market‑leading business with revenues exceeding £400m. This commercially focused position will own the group’s tax agenda, working closely with senior stakeholders across the organisation. You will provide strategic tax advice while ensuring compliance and robust governance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of UK corporate tax compliance and reporting.
• Oversee indirect tax matters, including VAT compliance and advisory support.
• Act as the primary point of contact for HMRC and external advisers.
• Support acquisitions, restructures and strategic projects from a tax perspective.
• Identify tax risks and opportunities across the group.
• Maintain strong tax governance and internal controls.
• Provide commercially focused tax advice to senior stakeholders and operational teams.
• Lead relationships with external auditors and tax advisers.

Required profile

• ACA, CTA or equivalent professional qualification.
• Training gained within a Big 4 or leading professional services environment.
• Current senior‑manager level experience or higher.
• Strong technical knowledge of corporate tax; exposure to indirect tax is advantageous.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Proactive, commercially minded approach.
• Previous in‑house experience welcomed but not essential.
