Head of Data & Analytics (Hybrid, 6‑month Fixed‑Term)

About the role

We are seeking a senior leader to establish and run a Data Centre of Excellence for Wesleyan, a long‑standing provider of financial services to health and education professionals. The role is hybrid, based in Birmingham, and will run for six months on a fixed‑term contract, reporting to the Executive team and Board.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement the operating model, organisational structure, technology stack, governance and processes for a new Data Centre of Excellence.
• Build and lead a customer‑centric business intelligence and data strategy team covering enterprise data warehousing, BI & analytics, content management and data governance.
• Define data, analytics and insight road‑maps that support profitability, revenue growth and strategic decision‑making.
• Collaborate with senior executives and Board members to embed a data‑first culture across the organisation.
• Recruit, motivate and develop high‑performing data and analytics professionals to meet current and future business needs.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in data, analytics or business intelligence, with a track record of delivering large‑scale, cross‑functional programmes.
• Strong ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive cultural change towards data‑driven decision‑making.
• Experience establishing data centres of excellence, data warehouses and governance frameworks.
• Excellent communication and people‑management skills.
