Head of Health Data Research

About the role

This senior position leads the creation of a new research partnerships function within a fast‑growing, technology‑driven health data organisation. You will sit at the crossroads of real‑world healthcare data, commercial strategy and life‑science research, turning large‑scale datasets into actionable research and commercial outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Build and nurture a network of strategic research and commercial partnerships across pharma, healthcare providers, research institutions and public sector bodies.
• Identify and develop opportunities to apply real‑world data to clinical trials, evidence‑generation programmes and other research initiatives.
• Translate complex datasets and analytical capabilities into clear commercial propositions for external partners.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (data, product, analytics, operations) to design, develop and operationalise research programmes.
• Lead external engagement activities such as industry events, presentations and stakeholder roadshows.
• Manage and develop a small research‑partnerships team, ensuring delivery of commercial and operational objectives.
• Contribute to the creation of a new revenue stream and long‑term growth for the business.

Required profile

• Proven experience developing strategic partnerships within healthcare, life sciences or related sectors.
• Strong commercial acumen with a track record of translating data assets into revenue‑generating propositions.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, capable of influencing senior external partners.
• Leadership experience managing small, high‑performing teams.

Required skills

• Deep understanding of real‑world healthcare data and its applications in research.
• Experience with commercial proposition development and partnership negotiation.
• Ability to convey complex analytical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
