Head of Pensions Solicitor – Birmingham

About the role

This senior position leads the Birmingham pensions practice of a nationally recognised law firm. The role offers strategic influence over the team’s direction and the chance to shape a well‑established offering while working alongside specialist colleagues across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and develop the pensions practice.
• Advise a diverse client base on scheme governance, benefit redesign, regulatory compliance, corporate transactions and de‑risking exercises.
• Collaborate with corporate, employment, banking and real‑estate teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Develop and nurture client relationships, win new work and contribute to the firm’s national pensions strategy.
• Mentor and manage junior pensions lawyers, fostering their professional growth.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with extensive pensions experience in a regional, national or international law firm.
• Strong technical expertise and commercial awareness.
• Proven track record of delivering pragmatic advice to employers, trustees and public‑sector organisations.
• Experience leading teams and driving business development initiatives.
