Head Of UK Lab Operations

About the role

Adaptyv is launching its first UK laboratory in London in 2026. As the Head of UK Lab Operations you will be the inaugural operations leader responsible for turning an empty shell into a high‑throughput protein‑engineering facility that serves partners such as Anthropic and Boltz.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the complete lab fit‑out, including benching, ventilation, power, cold storage, extraction and safety systems.
• Manage contractors, timelines and regulatory readiness to bring the space from shell to a fully operational laboratory.
• Oversee delivery, installation, qualification and hand‑over of a multi‑million‑dollar instrument fleet.
• Build and run the supply‑chain, maintenance and compliance processes for continuous operation.
• Recruit, train and lead the UK lab operations team, driving reliability, capacity and throughput improvements.

Required profile

• Proven experience scaling laboratory operations or facilities in biotech or related high‑tech environments.
• Track record of managing large‑scale fit‑out projects and coordinating multiple contractors.
• Strong understanding of safety, compliance and quality standards for wet‑lab work.
• Ability to adapt existing playbooks to a new geographic location and maintain high standards.
