Health and Social Care Assessor (4‑day week)

About the role

The Health and Social Care Assessor will deliver and assess apprenticeship programmes across Levels 2, 3 and 5 for learners in the Gloucester area. Working on a compressed four‑day week, the role combines field visits, remote assessments and administrative duties to support learners through to their Gateway and End‑Point Assessment.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and support learners undertaking Health and Social Care apprenticeships, including Functional Skills in Maths and English.
• Plan and manage a diary of visits, remote assessments and reviews to ensure timely delivery.
• Maintain accurate documentation of learner progress and assessment outcomes.
• Provide advice, motivation, and barrier‑removal strategies to help learners succeed.
• Meet assessor KPI targets for visit frequency, paperwork quality and overall administration.

Required profile

• Hold a recognised Assessor award (D32/33, A1, CAVA or TAQA).
• Proven experience delivering full Health and Social Care apprenticeships and supporting learners to Gateway and End‑Point Assessment.
• Solid occupational background in elderly care.
• Good level of ICT competence.
• Confidence delivering Functional Skills in Maths and English.
• Willingness to conduct both online remote assessments and face‑to‑face sessions.
• Full, clean driving licence and own vehicle with flexibility to travel across Gloucester and surrounding areas.
