HGV Class 1 (C+E) Driver – Gatwick (Temporary)

About the role

We are seeking experienced HGV Class 1 (C+E) drivers to join the Royal Mail network at the Gatwick depot. The role involves trunking mail between national depots on planned routes, providing a reliable link in the UK’s postal system for the remainder of 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Transport mail between Royal Mail depots across the country.
• Perform comprehensive vehicle checks before and after each shift.
• Follow scheduled routes with precision, adhering to all safety regulations.
• Represent Royal Mail professionally on every run.

Required profile

• Valid HGV Class 1 / C+E licence held for at least two years.
• Current CPC and Digital Tachograph card.
• Minimum 180 days of Class 1 driving experience in the past two years.
• No more than six penalty points on the licence.
• Ability to pass vetting and DBS checks.

Required skills

• HGV Class 1 vehicle operation.
• Vehicle safety inspection.
• Digital tachograph operation.
