Higher Level Teaching Assistant (Key Stage 2) – Year 6

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) or Early Career Teacher (ECT) to join a welcoming 1.5‑form entry primary school in Wythenshave, Manchester. The role starts in September 2026 and focuses on supporting the Year 6 cohort, delivering targeted interventions and preparing pupils for SATs.

Key responsibilities

• Lead PPA cover across the Year 6 group.
• Plan and deliver high‑quality intervention groups and SATs booster sessions.
• Support pupils in closing learning gaps and maximising progress.
• Deliver engaging learning to whole classes, small groups and individual pupils.
• Collaborate with experienced teachers to monitor progress and adapt learning to meet pupils' needs.

Required profile

• Hold a recognised HLTA qualification or a higher qualification such as Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Experience working within a primary school setting.
• Good understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum, ideally including Year 6.
• Confidence in leading whole‑class learning and targeted intervention groups.
• Organised, enthusiastic and committed to helping pupils achieve their full potential.
