Housing Disrepair Team Leader

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Housing Disrepair Team Leader to join our growing department in Manchester. The role combines hands‑on litigation work with leadership of a team of fee earners and paralegals, ensuring high‑quality client service and departmental growth.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and develop a team of fee earners and paralegals, managing leave, performance reviews and coaching.
• Maintain and progress your own Housing Disrepair caseload with support from a paralegal.
• Monitor team performance against KPIs, conduct file audits and approve key documents such as Letters of Claim, Expert Reports, Instructions to Counsel and pleadings.
• Ensure compliance with firm policies, investigate complaints and support risk mitigation.
• Participate in recruitment, induction and ongoing training, keeping the team up‑to‑date with legal developments.

Required profile

• Proven experience in Housing Disrepair litigation.
• Strong leadership and people‑management skills.
• Ability to balance personal caseload with team responsibilities.
• Excellent communication, analytical and organisational abilities.
