Housing Litigation Solicitor

About the role

A leading law firm, recognised in The Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners, is seeking a dedicated Housing Litigation Solicitor for a permanent position in Birmingham. The role involves handling a diverse range of housing matters for both landlords and tenants, delivering effective dispute resolution and court representation.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a varied caseload of housing issues, including homelessness applications, disrepair claims, eviction and possession proceedings, and property ownership disputes.
• Provide advocacy in court and alternative dispute resolution settings where appropriate.
• Take client instructions, prepare case files, and maintain accurate correspondence and time‑costing records.
• Report directly to the Department Director and support junior team members with technical expertise.
• Ensure compliance with file‑management standards and implement supervisory recommendations promptly.

Required profile

• Valid practising certificate at the time of application.
• Experience of 0‑3 years post‑qualification (NQ to 3 years PQE) in housing litigation.
• Proven ability to work to key performance indicators and manage caseload complexity.
• Strong client‑care orientation and proactive approach to problem solving.
