About the role

Our client, a leading law firm recognised as one of The Times Best Places to Work, is seeking a Housing Solicitor to join its East London team. The role involves representing tenants and occupiers across a range of housing matters while working within a supportive, high‑performing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Act on behalf of tenants and occupiers in possession claims, poor housing conditions cases, homelessness matters and judicial review proceedings.
• Represent protected parties, including professional litigation friends such as the Official Solicitor.
• Ensure compliance with Legal Aid Agency requirements for publicly funded matters.
• Manage and administer Legal Aid funding, using the Client and Cost Management System (CCMS).
• Handle and manage privately funded housing matters.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor in England & Wales with at least 1 year post‑qualification experience in housing law.
• Demonstrated ability to manage both publicly and privately funded cases.
• Strong client communication and advocacy skills.
• Commitment to high standards of professional conduct and continuous development.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of Legal Aid regulations and housing legislation.
• Proficiency with the Client and Cost Management System (CCMS).
• Experience in litigation, including judicial review and representation of protected parties.
