Housing Support Worker – Help People Facing Homelessness

About the role
Our client is looking for a compassionate Housing Support Worker to assist individuals who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. You will provide empathetic, person‑centred guidance, helping clients move from crisis to stability.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver non‑judgemental support via phone, email and face‑to‑face meetings.
- Conduct client assessments to identify needs, risks and opportunities.
- Assist clients with housing benefit, welfare claims and other entitlements.
- Develop and implement personalised support plans.
- Liaise with accommodation providers and partner agencies to secure safe housing.
- Promote access to health, wellbeing and community resources.
- Maintain accurate case records and follow safeguarding policies.
Required profile
- Strong communication and empathy skills.
- Ability to engage people in distress with patience and resilience.
- Willingness to learn about housing and welfare systems.
- Organised, collaborative and committed to strengths‑based support.
