HR Advisor (Employee Relations)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced HR Advisor specialising in Employee Relations to join our People Team on a 9‑month fixed‑term contract. Based in Manchester (with possible consideration for Luton), you will work hybrid – three days in the office and two days from home – delivering pragmatic, commercially‑focused advice across a diverse workforce.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a broad portfolio of Employee Relations cases from initiation to resolution, including disciplinary, grievance, performance, absence and flexible working matters.
• Support organisational change initiatives such as restructures, redundancy programmes and TUPE transfers, providing guidance on consultation processes and COT3 agreements.
• Lead ACAS early conciliation cases, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and company policy.
• Build effective relationships with managers and stakeholders to drive positive outcomes and enhance manager capability through coaching and training.

Required profile

• Proven experience handling complex Employee Relations casework independently.
• Strong background in redundancy consultations and organisational change.
• Hands‑on experience with TUPE planning and implementation.
• Excellent knowledge of UK employment legislation.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
• CIPD qualification or equivalent practical experience.
