HR Advisor

About the role

This full‑time temporary role supports the HR team of an industrial/manufacturing client in Manchester. You will ensure smooth day‑to‑day HR operations, manage employee‑related processes and provide practical guidance to managers and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Manage HR administration across the employee lifecycle – onboarding, contractual changes, off‑boarding and record keeping in the HRIS.
• Produce regular HR reports, data analysis and people metrics to aid business decisions.
• Prepare and issue HR documentation such as contracts, letters, policy communications and other correspondence.
• Act as first point of contact for employee‑relations matters, handling absence, disciplinary, grievance, performance and capability cases.
• Support investigations, hearings and consultations while ensuring compliance with internal processes and legislation.
• Coordinate probationary review processes, advising managers on expectations, documentation and outcomes.
• Provide first‑line HR support and coaching to managers, promoting consistent people‑management practices.
• Ensure all HR activities comply with employment law, organisational policies and governance requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience in HR administration and employee‑relations within an industrial or manufacturing setting.
• Strong knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practices.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for preparing documentation and advising managers.
• Experience delivering HR projects or process‑improvement initiatives.

Required skills

• Proficiency with HR Information Systems (HRIS).
