HR Assistant – Part‑time (Birmingham)

About the role

McGeoch Technology Ltd is seeking a proactive HR Assistant to support its growing HR team at the Birmingham production, assembly and test facility. The role is permanent, part‑time (20‑32 hours per week) and offers the chance to work across the full employee lifecycle in a dynamic defence and industrial environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day administration for the HR department, including employee records, contracts and right‑to‑work checks.
• Support recruitment activities: organise interviews, manage applicant communications and assist with onboarding.
• Handle starters, leavers and internal moves, ensuring accurate documentation and exit interviews.
• Maintain both hard‑copy and digital employee files and update organisational charts.
• Assist with training and development administration and coordinate the rollout of a new HR system and e‑learning platform.
• Act as the first point of contact for internal and external HR enquiries.

Required profile

• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to confidentiality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative HR team.

Required skills

• Proficiency in standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office).
• Experience with HR administration processes and employee data management.
