Insurance Claims Handler – Supervisor/Team Leader

About the role

Our client is seeking experienced litigated claims handlers to provide leadership and support to a dedicated team. You will manage a small mixed disease caseload while ensuring the team meets SLA targets and delivers commercial value.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and allocate workload across the team, matching tasks to individual capability.
• Provide supervision, technical support and training to drive performance.
• Maintain compliance with client benchmarks, SRA standards and internal quality metrics.
• Identify learning activities to develop authority levels and skill gaps.
• Act as first point of contact for client complaints and resolve issues promptly.
• Lead projects and process improvements to enhance operating practices.

Required profile

• Proven experience handling disease claims with a £100k authority.
• Technical knowledge of NIHL, disease and/or military claims.
• Full understanding of pre‑litigation and litigation stages for disease claims.
• Experience leading a team or project in the insurance/legal sector (desirable).
• Ability to develop others by identifying learning needs and creating improvement plans.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Experience using a case/claims management system.
