Integration Developer (Healthcare Messaging)

About the role

This fully remote position supports clinicians by delivering and maintaining integrations between clinical systems and a cloud‑hosted endoscopy management platform used across the NHS and private sector. You will work within a collaborative development team, contributing across the full software development lifecycle while shaping technical standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and enhance healthcare messaging interfaces using Java, Spring Boot, Apache Camel and Docker.
• Deliver new integration projects, working closely with customers and third‑party technical specialists.
• Support, troubleshoot and resolve production issues to keep live services reliable.
• Deploy software through structured change‑control processes and drive continuous platform improvements.
• Produce technical documentation and provide support for customer integrations.
• Participate in technical strategy, code reviews and knowledge‑sharing activities.

Required profile

• Strong experience building healthcare messaging solutions with HL7 v2.x, HL7 FHIR and other interoperability standards.
• Proven Java development expertise, including Spring Boot, Maven, REST/SOAP services and containerisation.
• Familiarity with source‑control, CI pipelines and modern deployment practices (Git, Azure DevOps, IaC, GitOps).
• Understanding of enterprise integration patterns, testing approaches and secure communication (mTLS, SSH).
• Experience with NHS integration platforms (e.g., InterSystems, Orion Rhapsody, CloverLeaf, BizTalk, Mirth Connect) is highly desirable.
