Intellectual Property Solicitor – Partner Role in Manchester

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Intellectual Property Solicitor to join our Manchester office as a partner. This senior position offers the opportunity to shape and expand a market‑leading IP practice within an international law firm.

Key responsibilities

• Advise clients on non‑contentious IP matters, including strategy, exploitation, licensing, and technology transfers.
• Draft and negotiate collaboration agreements, brand protection measures, and complex commercial contracts involving IP rights.
• Work closely with corporate, commercial, technology and life‑sciences teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Develop and grow a portable client base, generating new business for the firm.
• Lead and mentor junior team members, contributing to practice development.

Required profile

• 10+ years post‑qualification experience (PQE) as an IP solicitor.
• Demonstrable client following and a strong network in IP‑rich sectors such as technology, life sciences, retail or media.
• Proven track record in business development and relationship management.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with leadership experience.
